But that doesn’t necessarily mean you should take the first job that throws benefits your way. To ensure that you’re getting good benefits, you need to ask a few benefit questions.

So, when interviewing, make sure to ask about the specifics of the match. This can affect your retirement savings substantially.

Another question you’ll want to ask involves the specifics of vacation and sick days. Again, these vary greatly from employer to employer. 

Common numbers include 2 weeks of paid vacation and 5 to 9 days of paid sick leave. But, these days, it’s not usual to get 3, 4, 5, and even 6 weeks of paid vacation, depending on the job.

If you’re interested in pursuing further education while you work, this would be a great benefit to have. As such, make sure to ask about it during your interview.
