5 Signs That You Have a Hormone Imbalance

2. Irregularities in Your Breasts

A reduction in estrogen levels can cause your breasts to feel denser. Men that experience gynecomastia (breast development) have increased levels of estrogen. Less estrogen promotes muscularity in the pectoral muscles.

3. Mood Swings Caused By a Hormone Imbalance

Suffering from mood swings is almost always a hormonal issue. Lots of women experience it during PMS, which is a result of heightened estrogen. But excess estrogen may not be the cause of your mania.

5. Fluctuation in Weight

Thyroid imbalances and PCOS [in women] can cause unexplained fluctuations in weight. The hormones produced by the thyroid, T3 and T4, help regulate metabolism. 

Without them working in unison, the body will have a hard time properly consuming calories. The American Heart Association classifies rapid weight gain as 5 or more additional pounds in a week. 

Dieting may help with regulating weight, but it isn’t a solution in the long run. Those with thyroid issues need medical intervention to maintain a healthy mass.
